The airline industry is intensely competitive. It manages assets worth billions of dollars yet typically achieves a cumulative profit margin of 1% or less. Subjected to fierce competition, excessive regulation, seasonality, high costs yet low margins, it is essential to an airline’s survival that it leverages its most prolific asset – data.
The VICARS management information system enables an airline to capture data from cabin voyage reports and present it to the airline’s operational management for action with the minimum of delay and cost. The system can be extended to capture and process other information e.g.; crew assessments and surveys.
The ability to monitor key performance metrics very efficiently assists the airline to recognise and react to changes in performance levels quickly and to benefit from lower operating costs, improved quality and customer service, increased profitability and potentially, enhanced shareholder value.
Management Reporting
The standard reports include:
Reports can be easily tailored to the airline’s requirements.
Reports are accessed via a standard web browser. Each report can be retrieved by type, by flight number, by date or date range.
The report interface provides a rich set of tools to navigate and drill down to specific instances, to print the report and to export the report to PDF, .DOC and .XLS files.
If the report information originated from paper forms that were scanned or received by fax the originating document can be retrieved and displayed from the corresponding report item line.
